The inauguration of the Chemistry association was held on 24 th September, 2018 at 11.31 a.m. in Padmavibhushan Dr. V. Krishnamurthy auditorium.   The programme began by invoking the blessings of the God Almighty.   Ms. P. Jayabharathi of II M.Sc. chemistry welcomed the gathering.   The Principal- in-charge Dr. S. Sivakumar gave the Presidential address. In his presidential address, the Principal-in- charge thanked the Head of the Department for having brought such a great person to talk on a technique which is used in all walks of life.   He also thanked the Vice-President of the Chemistry association Dr. M. Murali who he described as a person with a a very good personality.   The Head of the Department of Chemistry and Dean of Sciences, Dr. K. The Department of English (UAP) organized “ Nacolit Fest 2K18 ” A State Level Inter-Collegiate Competition on 20/09/2018. The inaugural function was held in Dr. V. Krishnamurthy Auditorium at 9.00 a.m. Dr. Suresh Frederick, Head, Associate Professor, Department of English, Bishop Heber College, Trichy was the chief guest. He inaugurated the competition and motivated all the participants to perform well. The following competitions were conducted in various halls, 1. Drama, 2. Mime 3. Spell Bee, 4. Literary Quiz, 5. Poetry Recitation, 6. Dumb Charades and 7. Soliloquy. There were 12 colleges came and participated from all over Tamilnadu. The valedictory function was held in Dr. V. The inaugural function of Physics Association was held on 15.09.2018. Dr. Chandramohan , former Principal of Sree Sevugan Annamalai College, Devakottai   inaugurated   the association and delivered a talk on “Physics Everywhere”. Earlier Dr. Sundararaman, Principal presided over the function. Student Secretary M.Manoleelan (II MSc.,Physics) welcomed the gathering and V.Raghul   Velan(III B.Sc.,Physics) proposed the vote of thanks. The Inaugural function of Commerce Association (Unaided Programme) was held on 14.09.2018. The Chief Guest Dr. R.Thiyagarajan, a distinguished alumnus and Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, National Institute of Technology, Trichy spoke on “Decide Your Destiny”. In his speech he quoted Poets like, Bharathiar, Bharathidasan, Thiruvalluvar and many renowned scientists like Former President of India, Dr.APJ Abdulkalam for their invaluable service in our society.   He sang one of the Barathi song of Indian Independence. A two day National Conference on Indian Sensibility in Indian English Literature “A two day National Conference on Indian Sensibility in Indian English Literature” was organised by PG and Research Department of English, National College on 14 and 15 th of October 2018. NATIONAL COLLEGE (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli – 620 001 Teachers’ Day Celebration National College celebrated Teachers’ day on5 th Wednesday 2018 at 10.00 am. As Part of the Centenary   Celebrations, the management of the college – Dr. V. Krishnamurthy Educational Foundation invited all the retired teachers of the college and honored them with a plaque and felicitated them. There were more than 260 teachers invited and nearly 128 retired teachers accepted the invitation and participated in the felicitation function. Many recollected their memories in nostalgia.   Many others expressed their happiness through   mail   and few others expressed their inability to attend the function due to their old age,   inability to travel and previous commitments. Nilakanta Sasthri, Memorial Endowment Lecture was held in National College, Trichy on 03-09-2018. Prof. Dr. N.
