Department Of English(UAP) “Nacolit Fest 2K18” A State Level Inter-Collegiate Competition 20/09/2018





The Department of English (UAP) organized “Nacolit Fest 2K18”A State Level Inter-Collegiate Competition on 20/09/2018. The inaugural function was held in Dr. V. Krishnamurthy Auditorium at 9.00 a.m. Dr. Suresh Frederick, Head, Associate Professor, Department of English, Bishop Heber College, Trichy was the chief guest. He inaugurated the competition and motivated all the participants to perform well. The following competitionswere conducted in various halls, 1. Drama, 2. Mime 3. Spell Bee, 4. Literary Quiz, 5. Poetry Recitation, 6. Dumb Charades and 7. Soliloquy. There were 12 colleges came and participated from all over Tamilnadu. The valedictory function was held in Dr. V. Krishnamurthy Auditorium at 3.00 p.m and started with Prayer song. Dr. A. Mohamed Ibraheem, Vice-principal, Head, Associate Professor, Department of English, Jamal Mohamed college, Trichy was the honourable chief guest of the special occasion. He gave the valedictory address. In his speech he appreciated all the participants who came with passion to lift the show and motivated the participants, “participation is more important than winning”.The Chief Guest distributed the prize to the winners. The overall Winners up trophy was won by Bishop Heber College, Trichy and The overall Runners up trophy was won by St. Joseph’s College, Trichy. As a mark of encouragement the participation certificate was given to all the participants. Dr. R. Sundararaman, principal, National College, Trichy gave the presidential address and appreciated the efforts taken by the Department of English (UAP). Dr. P.S.S.Akilashri, Vice - Principal (UAP) felicitated the gathering. Dr. R. Vanitha, Head, Department of English, (UAP), congratulated the winners, participants and appreciated the hard work taken by all the staff members ofthe Department of English (UAP). S. Prithviraj, Student Secretary, Department of English (UAP) welcomed the gathering. The scenario was made more delighted with dazzling performances by the students of English department (UAP). Sugantha, Student from II M.A performed classical dance as a note of welcome the gathering. P. Akshay, Student from I B.A, performed magic show and stole the show by his outstanding performance. Akshara M Warma, Student from II B.A sang a song. The function successfully ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof.P. Anusooya, Vice-President of the Literary Association (UAP).

BLOOD DONATION CAMP NCC Army wing of National College, Mahathma Gandhi Memorial Govt. Hospital Trichy jointly organize Blood donation camp on 21-08-2017 at National College Trichy. Lt. Dr. K. Ramar Company Commander of 2 (TN) NCC Army wing delivered the welcome address. Colonal Jubin V Mathew Sena Medal , Officer Commanding, 2 (TN) NCC, Trichy to delivered the inaugural address and inaugurate the Camp. He spoke on importance of Blood Donation. Principal Dr. R. Sundararaman, National College, Trichy to honour the chief guest and deliver the presidential address. Nearly 120 students including NCC Cadets donated their blood.
