two day National Conference on Indian Sensibility in Indian English Literature
“A two day National Conference on Indian
Sensibility in Indian English Literature” was organised by PG and Research
Department of English, National College on 14 and 15th of October
2018.
It was inaugurated on 14.09.2018 by Dr. M.R. Chandran, Head of the
department, Saraswathi Narayan college, Madurai and in his inaugural address,
he spoke on quality of emotions in Indian English Literature. Dr. A.
Mohammed Mohideen, Principal, Khadir Mohideen college, Adirampattinam
delivered the key note address based on Indian English Literature which
reflects our society and culture. Dr.
D.E. Benet, Associate professor, Department of English, cordially welcomed the
gathering. Dr. R. Sundararaman, Principal,
National college presided over the function emphasizing the importance of
Indian sensibility in English Literature.
Convener of the conference Dr. R. Elavarasu, Head of the Department of
English, National College, Trichy, introduced the theme with reference to
Indian literary works. Dr. R. Soundararajan, Associate professor, Department of
English proposed the vote of thanks.
The Valedictory function was held on
15.09.2018. Dr. M. Palaniswamy,
Associate professor, Kanchi Mamunivar Centre for Post Graduate Studies,
Lawspet, Puducherry was the chief guest for the Valedictory function. In his valedictory note, he brought out the
difference between the Sensibility and Sensitivity. Professor M.S. Balamurugan, Associate
professor PG & Research Department of English National College Trichy,
welcomed the gathering. Dr. R. Sundararaman, Principal, National College (Autonomous),
Trichy presided over the function. In
his presidential address he emphasized on the need for extensive reading. Rithu
Sharma and Daniel jobraj who are the participants gave the feedback about this
conference. Dr. R. Elavarasu, the coordinator of the conference and Head of the
Department of English, proposed the vote of thanks. There were about 90
participants attended the conference from different parts of Tamilnadu and
80papers were presented.
