DST-INSPIRE
Internship Science Camp sponsored by
the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India was inaugurated on
06.08.2018 at 09.30 a.m in the college
auditorium.
Dr.A.T.Ravichandran, Co-ordinator DST-INSPIRE Camp, Vice Principal
& Associate Professor of Physics, welcomed the gathering. Dr.S.Sivakumar, Principal In-charge,
Head of Geology Department presided the function.
Dr.V.Murugesan,
Vice-Chancellor, Annamalai University
inaugurated the camp, who delivered “The objective of the camp is to create a
platform for students to interact with eminent scientists, professors and field
visit and hands on experience to motivate talented school children to take up
research activities in the field of science.”
Shri.K.Raghunathan, Secretary and Dr.Anbarasu,
Director of Studies honoured the chief guests. Dr. A. Pannerselvam, Associate Professor of Botany, A.V.V.M Sri
Pushpam College, Thanjavur, felicitated the gathering and emphasized the
students to equip their science knowledge and to upgrade their knowledge
towards the emerging technology.
More than 150 students from different schools
of Tamilnadu are participating in this five days camp. Dr. P.S.S. Akilashri, Vice Principal & Head of Computer Science
Department proposed the vote of thanks.

The Valedictory function
of DST-INSPIRE Internship Science Camp organized
by National College, sponsored by
the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India was held on 11.08.2018 at 3.30 p.m in the college auditorium.
Dr.Manickam,Associate
Professor of Tamil proposed the welcome address, Dr.R.Sundararaman, Principal presided over the function. Dr.R.Jagannathan, Vice-Chancellor, Saint
Teresa University, West Indies delivered the valedictory address and
distributed the certificates to the participants and awards to the winners of
essay writing competition.
Dr.V.Murugesan, Vice-Chancellor ,
Annamalai University, Dr.A.Pannesselvam,
Dr. M. Palaniyandavar, Dr.N.Ramanujam,
Bhatnagar Awardees Prof. M. Lakshmanan,
and Dr. T.J. Pandiyan, Dr. K. Anbarasu, Dr. M.A. Akbarsha, Dr.K.Kathiresan,
Dr. R. Jagannathan, , Saint Teresa
Unviersity, West Indies, and Dr. N.Lakshiminarasimhan, delivered mentor lectures and interacted with
the students. Simple scientific
experiments demonstrated by Dr. Subbaiah Pandiyan and the special
training in rocket designing and launching demonstrated by Science
Wissen Foundation attracted the young participants.
